Nelson green gecko

This lovely photo was taken by Tracey in the Teetotal area. The population is classified as nationally vulnerable. Nelson green gecko are found in the north west South Island. They are diurnal (active during the day) and are arboreal (tree dwelling). In particular they occupy the foliage of manuka and kanuka trees. They have prehensile tails which act as a climbing aid.

FOR Activities on Conservation Land on Hold
