Rainbow Line - Welcome to New Volunteers - Drew Hunter

It was a nice day out in the impressive Rainbow Valley with two new volunteers helping check the traps.

Catches were 14 rat, 122 hedgehog, 133 stoat, 149 possum and one possum run over as we were coming home. The possum at 149 had been eaten by a cat.

A couple of updates: the Dip Flat road has been washed out 20 meters past trap no 4.To check the traps we need to come in from the top road, do the check, and double back.

: the traps are now part of the DOC recording system and GPS positions have been taken. This will simplify record keeping.
